Yes the ACT III going back to the past to "solve the problems" is not a very good idea ... its a too "heavy" post game I think The very stupid thing about Veronica is not the fact that she is a kid but her death ... i t s very sad and why Veronica ?... she is not my favourite carachter but she is not THE very relevant important defenitive person of the game ... I thought she would be back with Serena in Arborea after the fight with Mia (Erik sister) ... You should tell about the saves (automatic and manuel) Anyway even with that Dragon Quest XI is still a very good game ❤😊 Nice video

dq 9 was probably one of the most forgettable experiences it had no charm no deep story the party was meh since u could create them at will.. and all of this after masterpiece which was the dq 8

Currently playing p3r and its my first time playing persona and i already bought p4 golden and p5R. This has me looking forward to playing these games. Steam sale got all 3 of these personas :)

Wow this game sounds trash. Dialog heavy?. Also all dating stuff and excessive non plot material sounds like a chore.

DQ10 being called a spin off is wild it’s like saying FF14 or FF11 are spin offs they aren’t they put the number there for a reason.

But with The latter are all the story stuff fresh like the story wasnt run through with the Dlcs cus having all 3 slots taken up but no from the beginning story would kind of suck

I totally agree with the answers Yes and No in some dialogues Very stupid !... Another "dumb" detail is when your team is dead you have 3 options : last visited place last time saved by yourself (church or statue) or automatic save If you choose automatic save its free but for the other options you must pay and it makes no sense because there is an automatic save almost everywhere Every time you enter a new zone the game saves so why should you lose the half of your money when you can do it for free ??? 😅

Just discovered this video and I, for one, am glad I did. Thank you for calling out the stupidity that is Act III. Not only because the Luminary proves to be an utter braindead lemming by not trying to stop the actions in the past like you mentioned, but because of how Act III undoes all the character development in the cast that they gained in Act II, all to get a "better" ending (aka: save the annoying midget Veronica). But I don't see Act III as a mixed bag. I see it as a massive train wreck. As a writer myself I value what character development does, even if it requires some extreme events to trigger it. So the fact that Act III undoes all the character development and redemption arcs that happens in Act II is something that I cannot stomach. And all for what? To save Veronica, who I hate with a passion. I see her as more annoying than Prince Charmless... I mean Prince Charmles. At least when it came to him he was designed to be a hate sink, and was only a temporary party member (and a damn worthless one at that). While Veronica was a main character and proved to be absolutely unbearable. So whenever I play DQ11 I completely avoid Act III because of how many problems and inconsistencies it causes, all to get a "better" ending (which I find debatable at how much "better" it really is). If Act III was more like DQ8's post-game, being more of an extension of the story to unlock other endings then that would be fine. But nope. It instead destroys everything good about Act II in an attempt to rewrite everything for a "better" ending. Also, I thank you for also calling out the stupidity that is DQ11's marriage "system". While I don't mind marriage in games how it's executed can cause problems. And DQ11 is a prime example of that. Instead of simply bonding and completing story moments with the characters you instead need to fight a superboss within a certain time limit to unlock the option? That... is pure nonsense. DQ8 on the 3DS did a much better job at that with the unlockable Jessica ending, even if it meant doing the postgame (which, in my eyes, is one of DQ's best games), which is fine with me since it helped enhance the story with more details and character development. So the fact that DQ11's marriage "system" requires jumping through hoops just to even gain the chance to unlock is pure stupidity at best.

The lesson I get is this: better to have very few main villains who have rare appearances but steal the show every time, rather than a whole bunch of villains doing villain stuff or (arguably worse) having a villain appear in every chapter, every episode ect.
